For protection of insulation of hot pipes against crushing due to concentrated load at location of pipe supports. Saddle sits directly against pipe, through insulation. Top edges are notched, to minimize contact surface area with pipe. Available with high load bearing fabric reinforced rubber caps to allow usage with cold water or non-ferrous pipe.
